The Daying Ering wildlife sanctuary in East
Siang district in Arunanchal Pradesh is
under constant threat owing to illegal
hunting practices.

Surprise raids conducted by District Forest Officers seized carcasses of one Hog-Deer (Axis Porcinus) identified as
variety of Cervidae family and also rare species birds in possession of nabbed hunters. Offenders were arrested who
dared to hunt in the buffer zone and cases lodged under Wildlife Protection Act.
