The All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) (in Hindi: अखिल भारतीय जनवादी महिला समिति) is the women's wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)
The All India Democratic Women's Association, AIDWA was established in 1981,[2] and works for women's rights and for their education, employment and status, along with issues like casteism,[1] communalism, child rights and disaster aid.[3]
AIDWA has an annual membership fee of one rupee, which allows it policy-independence from donor agencies and government.[3] In 2007, it had over 10 million members, spread across 23 states.[4]

The first National Conference of AIDWA was held at Chennai in 1981, with delegates from 12 States representing 590,000 members.
The eighth National Conference was held at Kolkata in 2007, with 951 delegates from 23 States, representing a membership of around 18,600,000. Former West Bengal Chief Minister, Jyoti Basu addressed the inaugural session.[5]

Arvind Kejriwal named his Political Party as Aam Admi Party
Arvind Kejriwal on 24 November 2012 announced the name of his newly formed Political Party as Aam Admi Party after two months of its split from Anna Hazare and his movement of India Against Corruption at the Constitution Club, New Delhi. The Party on the same day also adopted its Constitution that foresee establishment of Swaraj in the country. All this happened in presence of about 320 people. The name would be publicly accepted on 26 November at Jantar Mantar.
The party would work with an aim of providing more say in law making to Gram Sabhas and would also work to make Judiciary accessible to Common Man. The newly formed party also cleared its stand that it would start its electoral fight from Delhi, where the Assembly elections were due by the end of 2013. The Party had also filed an application with the Election Commission to allot a symbol to the party.
Anna Hazare and Kejriwal broke away on 19 September 2012 due to the differences registered between them over formation of a political party. After this on 2 October 2012, Kejriwal also declared that he would be naming the Party and launch it officially, on 26 November 2012, the day when India adopted the Constitution in 1949.
The party would work with an aim of providing more say in law making to Gram Sabhas and would also work to make Judiciary accessible to Common Man. Rahul Gandhi Appointed Head of INC Coordination Panel for 2014 Lok Sabha Elections
Rahul Gandhi, the General Secretary of Indian National Congress on 15 November 2012 was made the head of the Congress Coordination Committee for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
With the appointment of Rahul Gandhi, Senior leaders of Congress Ahmed Patel, Janardan Dwivedi, Digvijaya Singh, Madhusudan Mistry and Jairam Ramesh also included in the members list of the election coordination committee.
The formation of Election Coordination Committee was announced by Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the Sanvad Baithak at Surajkund in Haryana. She has also constituted three sub-groups keeping in view the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2014.
The three Sub-Groups are-
The first sub group formed look after the key issue of pre-poll alliances, is going to be headed by Defence Minister AK Antony.
The manifesto and government programmes sub group, is headed by Antony, and has P Chidambaram, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Anand Sharma, Salman Khurshid, Sandeep Dikshit, Ajit Jogi, Renuka Chowdhary and P L Punia as its members
The communications and publicity sub-group is chaired by Digvijaya Singh and have former I&B minister Ambika Soni, Manish Tewari, Deepender Hooda, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Rajiv Shukla and Bhakta Charan Das as members.

Chiranjeevi’s PRP formally unites with Congress
Chiranjeevi-led Praja Rajyam Party merged with the Congress. "Under Para 4 of Schedule X of the Constitution, all 17
members of PRP will be recognised as Congress MLAs with immediate effect," the Speaker of Andhra Pradesh
announced to the House.
PRP was founded by the Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi on August 26, 2008 at temple-town
Tirupati. The party could not ride to power despite positioning itself as an alternative to
Congress and Telugu Desam Party but won only 18 seats with 17 per cent vote share in the
2009 elections.
Sukhram surrenders to a local Court
Former Union Minister Sukh Ram surrendered before a local court in Delhi which sent him to jail to serve his
three-year sentence in a telecom scam case in 1993.
Sukh Ram had been telecom minister between January 18, 1993 and May 16, 1996, in the Narasimha Rao
government.
He had conspired with former bureaucrat Runu Ghosh and Hyderabad-based businessman P Rama Rao and
approved the ARM Ltd’s bid despite its rates being higher than other bidders.
Runu Ghosh and Rama Rao have surrendered before the trial court and were sent to jail to serve their sentence
of two and three years respectively.
Besides the jail term, the convicts were also asked to pay a fine of 2 lakh rupees each.

Suresh Kalmadi granted Bail
Delhi High Court grants bail to former Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee chairman, Suresh Kalmadi in
a 2010 Commonwealth Games-related graft case.
Kalmadi was given bail after remaining behind bars for nearly nine months.
On April 25, 2011 Kalmadi was arrested by CBI for awarding illegal contracts to a Swiss firm for Timing-Scoring-
Result (TSR) system for the 2010 Commonwealth Games causing a loss of Rs 95 crore to the exchequer.
Kalmadi’s membership of the Indian National Congress Party was suspended after being arrested and charged
with corruption.
On April 26, 2011 he was also sacked from the post of president of the Indian Olympic Association.
In the recent verdict, Delhi High Court has also granted bail to Former Director General of CWG Organising
Committee V K Verma co-accused in the case.
The bail has been granted to them after furnishing a bail bond of 5 lakh rupees each and two sureties of the same
amount.
The court has also directed them not to leave the country without prior permission of the trial court.
