NRI children brought in Delhi from Norway
The 2 NRI children Abhigyan and Aishwarya, who were kept in foster care by authorities in Norway for nearly a year,
arrived in New Delhi after a protracted legal battle. The children came with by their foster father. A Norwegian court
handed over the 2 NRI children in foster care to their paternal uncle, ending months of custody row that saw India
escalating diplomatic pressure on Norway to send back the children. The children were taken away from their parents
Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya by Norway’s Child Welfare Agency in May 2011 on grounds of "emotional
disconnect”.
India assures Norway fair solution for Telenor

India reassured Norway of a fair resolution for Telenor whose multi-billion investment in India faces
incertitude after cancellation of 122 telecom licence by the Court. The issue arose for discussion at a
meeting b/w PM Manmohan Singh with his Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg on the sidelines of
Nuclear Security Summit.
