V. Dinesh Reddy, the Director-General of Police for Andhra Pradesh has been appointed as the New President of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) on 7 November 2012. Dinesh Reddy replaced R.K. Shetty after he resigned from the post.
Reddy’s elevation to the post happened because he was the senior most Vice-President of the organization after R.K. Shetty and would be at the post till next elections of the federation takes places.
Indian Olympic Association’s Electoral College has also released a list for elections that is scheduled for 25 November and Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) was allowed to vote attend the meetings scheduled in the future for the elections, but would not be allowed to vote in the elections. Hockey India (HI) would be placing three representatives who are eligible for Voting during the elections.

ESPN STAR Sports inked a multi-year broadcast deal Hockey India. The channel will now have the exclusive right to
broadcast all international hockey test matches under Hockey India to be played in India for the next 5 years.
As per the contract the ESPN STAR Sports will also exclusively cover Hockey India League (HIL), which is expected to be
kicked off in January 2013.

Sher-e-Punjab defeated Pune Strykers at the MHA Mahindra Stadium in Mumbai.
Hockey India on 17 September 2012 announced Wave Group as the owner of the Delhi Franchise of Hockey India League (HIL).
Chairman of Hockey India League and Secretary General of Hockey India Narinder Kumar Batra on 17 September stated that Wave Group’s entry is a signal of hockey’s good future in India. Other Franchise owners of different team include Jaypee Group for Punjab, Sahara India for Lucknow and Patel-Uniexcel for Ranchi.
Hockey India on 17 September 2012 appointed Mariamma Koshy of Hockey Kerala as its new full-time President. The decision was made during the 15th meet of Board Executives and was taken following the guidelines prescribed under rule 4(f) of Hockey India Rules and Regulations.
Koshy (63 years in age) has been a vice-president of Hockey India as well as an Interim-President of the National Body. Gayatri Shetty, the treasurer of Hockey Karnataka was named as the new Vice-President of Hockey India after the post was vacated, due to Koshy’s elevation. Appointment of Gayatri also was done following the guidelines and regulations under rule 4 (f).
Indian Hockey team for London Olympic Qualifiers Announced
Hockey India announces the 18-member Indian team that will play in the London Olympic Qualifiers.
London Olympic Qualifiers will be held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi from the 18th
February.
The team for the tournament will be led by goalkeeper Bharat Chetri. The participating teams in the event are
Canada, France, Italy, Poland and Singapore, besides India.
