World Energy Forum


The World Energy Forum Meeting began in Dubai yesterday with a call for a sustainable energy solution for the world. 

At the World Energy Forum Conference in Dubai, the leaders from the developing world, emerging economies, oil producers and the rich nations said cleaner and safer energy is the need of the hour. In his inaugural address, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid al Makhtoum urged the nations to work for the right energy mix. On the sidelines of the conference, Mr. Jaipal Reddy met the Energy Minister of Qatar. The talks focused on supply and pricing of gas from Qatar to India. During his talks with the US special envoy on energy, Carlos Pascal, the Petroleum Minister discussed the possibilities of import of Shale Gas and increasing bilateral co-operation in energy sector with the U.S. Atul K Tiwary.
