Hamid Ansari, who was nominated by the UPA for the Vice Presidential election, has emerged a winner
again. He defeated BJP candidate Jaswant Singh.

The Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari released a collection of the complete
writing and works -Granthavali of late Dr Dineshnandini Dalmia in New Delhi.The
Vice-President also re-launched ‘Rucha’, a literary magazine launched by the
poet.Mr. Ansari said that she was an outstanding literary figure - an author of prose
and poetry, a social reformer and a philanthropist.Mr. Ansari hailed her as a practical
leader of the Feminism movement in the country who broke the bondage of
traditional society. She rebelled against the purdah system and fought against
gender bias.Born in Udaipur, Dineshnandini Dalmia pioneered a new style of prose
poems ‘Gadya Kavya’ and lived and wrote through an era which was marked by
monumental changes in society
