Joyce Banda takes over sworn in as Malawi president
Malawi’s Vice President Ms Joyce Banda took over power in the southern African
nation following the official announcement of the death of President Bingu wa
Mutharika. Under Malawi’s Constitution the Vice President takes over in the
absence of the president. Bingu wa Mutharika died of a heart attack a day before due to a Heart
attack.
