The sixth meet of Mekong–Ganga Cooperation was held in New Delhi.
What is Mekong-Ganga Cooperation?
The Mekong-Ganga Cooperation was set up on November 10, 2000
in Vientiane, Lao Peoples Democratic Republic. The goal was to
enhance cooperation amongst India and the 5 Mekong region
countries – Cambodia, Lao Peoples Democratic Republic, Myanmar,
Vietnam and Thailand.
Its establishment stressed on 4 areas of cooperation which
are tourism, culture, education, and transportation linkage, in the
direction to bolster foundation for future trade and investment
cooperation among the region.
