Hameed has been given the Freedom of the City of London award in recognition of
his work within the medical profession and in promotion of interfaith relations.
2.India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was also conferred the honour when
he visited London in 1956. 3.The first Freedom of the City of London was presented
in 1237 and the award was originally a working title which enabled recipients to carry
out their trade
